Beautiful, Family, Fun

Today was a nice day for a family day, so Eric and I took Abby out to the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge and Magee Marsh (out by Davis Besse). We walked a lot of the trails and stopped and watched many geese, birds and other wildlife play in their natural habitat. The baby enjoyed it for a while, but by the time hour 2 1/2 came along, she was ready to go home. While we were out there, we took Abby to a little beach area that they have there. The waves were really crashing hard today and she did not like that at all. She did not want to be let down and cried whenever we tried. We were going to try and get some really cute beach pictures with her, but needless to say, that did not happen. However, we did get some cute pictures of her while we were walking. She really did have a good time, but was ready to get out and have some freedom to walk around when we got home. Here are some great pics of her today.

Memorial Day!

Abby went to her first parade today for Memorial Day. She really enjoyed the parade. We went with Mimi, Grandpa, Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Ted. Abby loved the lights and the cars and the dogs and the band, however, when the firetrucks came by, they were a little loud and we covered her ears. Overall, she loved the parade. Of course, we all forgot our cameras, so I only got a couple of pictures of her from my cell phone. On Sunday, we went to Mimi and Grandpas house for a cookout with the family. Abby enjoyed being the center of attention. Before going to the cookout on Sunday, I decided I was going to paint her toenails for the first time. She was not very cooperative but I did finally manage to get the painted. They looked so cute on her little feet and she was enthralled with them for a while. Yesterday, we all went to buy flowers to plant in the backyard. We went to Anderson's, while we were there, we bought some fresh blueberries, peaches and bananas. When we got home I cut up some fresh fruit to feed to Abby, she ate almost an entire peach when we got home. Then for dinner I gave her some blueberries, bananas and peaches in a bowl. She ate so many blueberries I think she made herself sick. So, we now know that she LOVES blueberries and peaches. She likes bananas too, but she has been eating those for a while, and they are old hat by now. Here are some great pics from this weekend.

Abby Update!

Life has pretty much been moving along with nothing too excited going on. However, Abby 2 days ago, Abby really caught on the whole walking thing and she has been walking nonstop. She only crawls when she needs to find something the pull herself to standing, and then she stands up and walks around. She is loving walking. As soon as she figures out how to stand up without holding onto something, she will be off and running. She is making so much good progress. Other than that, school is winding down and we are all looking forward to the summer. Here are some silly pictures that Mimi took yesterday when she and grandpa came to visit. I will take some more video of her just cruising around and put it on here for all to see.

It was a Happy Mother's Day!

Today was mother's day and it was great. We started off the day with going to church as a family. I have cute pictures of Abby and I in our church outfits. Then after church we came home and Eric and Abby gave me my mother's day present. I got a spa Gift certificate, flowers and a CD, along with 2 wonderful cards (one from Eric, one from Abby). I made Eric and I some brunch while Abby napped. When Abby got up, we went to a Toledo MudHens game with Mimi, Grandpa and Uncle Jeff. This was Abby's first baseball game and she had a good time. She got her picture taken with Muddy the Mudhen and Muddona the Mudhen. Abby loved Muddona and kept petting her. She was very cute. After the game we went back to Mimi and Grandpas and had dinner. By the time we got home the baby was exhausted and went to bed by 8 pm and went right to sleep. Here are some great pictures from the day, hope you enjoy.

Abby is getting great at walking!

Abby has really been walking a lot the last couple of days. Her walking skills have greatly improved. She is now walking from one piece of furniture to another without any assistance or coaxing from us. Her walking ability is definitely improving daily. However, along with learning new big things, always comes some big falls. Abby had a couple of pretty big falls this weekend. It looked worse than it was, she got over it pretty fast, but mommy felt really bad (since I was the one home with her at the time). Here are some pics of her face after she fell (she had a bruised and swollen nose and eye). Here is also a video of her walking.
