Life's BIG changes!!

So a couple of weeks ago my sister posted about thankfulness and being thankful. It got me thinking about thankfulness in my own life. Every night when the kids and I say their prayers, we tell God everything we are thankful for. So every night the kids and I thank God for our friends and family, for our home, for food to eat, and for everyone to get a good night's sleep and we have been thanking God for these things as long as Abby has been alive because they are part of our prayers. However, about 6 months ago I started adding something to my thankful list. I started adding that I thank God for a job in which I can stay home and take care of my kids. Staying home with my kids has always been my hearts desire, but it is not feasible unless I can make money from home as well. So, even though I had no job prospects at the time, I started thanking God daily for the job that I desired because God knows what is best for me.

Well, a week ago, I got a call to interview with an online school called ECOT. In 1 week, I got the call, interviewed, they called my references, I got a job offer and I start on Jan. 3rd. Therefore, I resigned my job on Monday of this week and as of Thursday (12/22/11) I am no longer working at the school I have been at for 9 years. I will be staying at home with my kids. I no longer have to put them in daycare! I am soooo excited!! I am officially a work at home mom!! This is a HUGE transition for my family. Eric and I have worked together since we met so it is going to be very weird to not work together! Anyway, please keep our family in your prayers during this crazy time of transition!

An Abby Post!

It has been a while since I have had a post that was just about Abby so I thought it was time. Abby has been loving this holiday season. On Saturday night, Abby went to Mimi and Papa's house and baked cookies for Mimi. She then got to spend the night at Mimi and Papa's house. She was sooo excited and had a great time with them. It was good for her to have some one-on one time with the grandparents because she has started asking me if I love Jack more than I love her. I keep reassuring her that I don't, but she is still adjusting to having to share mom and dad, so she still sometimes does not like when we spend time with Jack. She likes to be the center of attention. But she is so sweet about it and she loves her little brother. I love my sweet baby girl so much!

On Sunday evening, Abby got to be in her first church Christmas play. I have a video of it that I will post when I get it downloaded. Here are some pics of Abby making cookies and singing in the church Christmas play!

All of the preschoolers singing! They are so cute!

Abby looks sad for some reason, not sure why.

Singing Jingle Bells with all their bells!

She looks so cute!

My happy baby girl!

Jack is 1/2 year old! Happy 6 months baby boy!

This past Friday we took Jack to his 6 month Dr. 's appt. He is the picture of health according to the doctor. Jack weighed in at a whopping 16lbs. 10.6 oz. He is in the 40th percentile for weight. Jack is 26.5 inches long which puts him in the 50th percentile for height and is head is 44 3/4 cm around which puts him in the 90th percentile for head circumference. So he is still growing right as he should. Jack is such a happy baby and we love to watch him laugh and giggle all day long.

Halloween!

For the past month Abby has been wanting it to be Halloween sooooo bad so that she could dress up in her Rapunzel dress! Everyday she asks me how many more days until Halloween. Well yesterday we had our first Halloween event even though it is a week until Halloween. Our local zoo has a trick or treat event the week before Halloween so we took both kids to the zoo for trick or treating. We have taken Abby for the past 3 years, but of course this was Jack's first year. Abby loved it! And she can't wait for more Halloween fun in the next week or so.

This is Abby at the end of our day at the zoo. AS you can see she is still having a good time (but at this point we had taken off her wig so that she could have more freedom to play).

The mommy and baby elephant were out for all of the visitors to see. It was a nice day. Partly sunny and mid 50's. About what you would expect in October.

This is our very last pic for the day. Abby wanted to make a silly face, so this is her silly face.

They had several different bouncy things and Abby played on a couple of those (which is why we took off her hair).

Abby got her picture taken with the Pink Panther!

She got to drive a Barbie convertible! She is a speed demon! The guy had to keep stopping her so she did not run into other kids! Now she wants one of these lol!

She also loved this huge pink dollhouse and she played with that for a long time!

Another bouncy thing that Abby played in.

Jack in his Monkey costume! He looked so cute and he was nice and toasty! ( Thanks to our friends the Schaetzke's for the costume).

Abby right before hitting our first trick or treat spot. She liked the spider.

At home getting ready to go. You cam evem see the Rapunzel shoes in this pic. She looked sooo cute!

How long the hair went down her back!

Every year we get a pic of Abby in front of this same monster. It is tradition now. So this year we got a pic of them both in front of the monster to start a new tradition with both of our angels!

They had a little cage the kids could get in for fun and take a pic. It's cute isn't it!
Abby had so much fun and everyone kept commenting on how cute she looked!
