Jack's 2 month check-up.

At Jack's 2 month check-up. he weighed 12ilbs. 2 oz. He was 23 inches long and his head circumference is 40 3/4 cm. around. That puts him at 50th percentile for height and weight and 85th percentile for head circumference. I have a very average size child. Since his 2 month check-up he has started laughing and it is the cutest sound ever. I can't wait to capture it on film. At his 2 month appt. Jack also got his first big round of shots. He was not happy and it took him a couple of days to not be tired and fussy anymore. But he is such a sweet, cute and overall happy baby. He is pretty much back to himself now. He also recently, slept 7 hours straight at night. He has only done it once, but I am really hoping that it happens again and develops into a pattern!!

Gotta Love Famliy Time!!

This past week we went to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with the family. Eric and I (and the kids) had never been to the Smoky Mountains, even though the rest of the family had been. So we were very excited about going. My mom rented a 10 person cabin for all of us to stay in. It was absolutely gorgeous and the kids loved it!! My mom got to ride down with us, so that made the trip easier with the 2 kids. But I have to say that my 2 children are great travelers!!

We did so many fun things with the kids. We took them to a huge aquarium, we took them to a little carnival like play place. We rode a tram car up to the top of the mountains. Eric, Abby and I went to the dinner show called "Dixie Stampede" Our family went and drove around and explored the Smoky mountains on 2 different days.

Also, my college roommate, who lives in TN, was also able to come and visit for a couple of days. It was so much fun to see her and her mom. I miss her so much and hanging out with her was a blast. Here are some pics of our fun week.

This is a pic of the whole family who went to TN.

Erica and Abby on top of the mountains. Abby was loving it!

The Love of My Life!

So, last weekend was Eric and I's 5 year anniversary. It was also my 35th birthday. So, it was a big weekend for us. My sister was nice enough to take Abby for the weekend so we were down to only one child. And on Friday night, my mom came up and watched Jack for us so that Eric could surprise me and take me to a nice hotel for the night. It was soooooo nice to have a little time with just the hubby. I love him and we don't get to spend much alone time together with 2 small children, so we appreciate any alone time we can get. Eric and I had the nicest evening. We went to dinner, played putt-putt and got a full night's sleep!!! That has not happened in a couple of months. I think we were both the most excited about the full nights sleep! Eric did a great job at getting me a couple of awesome presents (without any help from me-I did not give him any suggestions!). He got me tickets to a Darius Rucker Concert at the Zoo and he got me a new pendant for my Pandora bracelet.

Anyway, at this point in the blog I just want to brag on my husband a little bit. It has been the most amazing 5 years. I am more in love with my husband today than ever. He is absolutely one of the most kind, honest, generous, smart, funny, and lovable people that I have ever met. He is such a spectacular father. He helps with the baby in the middle of the night, he just loves to hang out with his little girl. They play and hug and have such a good time together. He is also so great with our little boy. He holds him when he is fussy and gives me a break, even after he has worked all day. He just loves his children and they could not be luckier to have him for a daddy, He even helps keep the house clean (which takes lots of work with 2 small children). He vacuums and dusts and cleans rooms. I don't know what I would have done without him these last 7 1/2 weeks. (or really the past 5 years). The best decision I ever made was to say yes to him and walk down the aisle and marry him. I can't wait to spend the next 50 or so years loving him and our perfect little family!

A quick lillte blog

A couple of weeks ago Jack had his one month dr.'s appt. When he was born he weighed 8 lbs. 1.5 oz. at his one month appt. he weighed 10lbs. 2 oz. He had gained 2 lbs in the first month. He is in the 52nd percentile for weight. His height at one month was 21 1/4 in. long, which is about an inch longer than he was at birth. He is in the 45th percentile for height. His head circumference was 38 cm. So he is getting to be a big boy. He is already bigger than Abby was at one month and they were born at almost the exact same weight. I have a feeling he is just going to be a bigger child than she ever has been. Here are a couple more pics to entertain.

Abby was in the bathtub the other day and decided to take her blue bathtub crayon and color her entire body blue. When her daddy and I saw this we were shocked and Abby thought she was in trouble, We were quick to assure her that it was no big deal and we thought it was funny. However, my extremely sensitive child was so upset that she might be in trouble that she cried anyway. So here is a picture of covered in blue crayon, crying, even though she is not in trouble. I love that baby girl.

Here is a one month picture of my baby boy.

Long Overdue!

I know my blogging has been severely lacking lately, but that is what happens when you have a newborn. Sorry for those of you who look for picture updates I will try to be better at at least posting pictures.

So, Jack is 7 weeks old already (as of yesterday). He has already had an eventful 7 weeks of life. He has been to the zoo twice, been to the beach twice and visited the African Safari Wildlife Park, as well as the library and the park numerous times! Jack loves to go out and about and visit the world.

Jack is becoming much more responsive as he gets older and he is starting to smile at us and interact more. Abby likes this because she thought he was pretty boring there for a while! SO here are some pics of the fun things the family has been doing this summer!

Here Abby is riding a camel at the Africa Safari Park

And she got to ride a horse while she was there, as well.

My mom, gram, and sister (and her family) all went to the African Safari Wildlife Park with us. It was so much fun.

Abby got to pet a lizard while we were there.

Abby and I could not feed the buffalo quick enough. He was all the way in the car trying to eat our food! Abby loved it, as you can see by the look on her face.

Abby feeding the animals.

Jack enjoying watching the animals!

Mom sat in the back with the kids while we rode around the park.

The giraffes even ate out of our hands!

This picture was at our local zoo. There was a baby elephant just born and his name is Lucas. This is him.

This is Jack, Abby and I at Jack's first time at the zoo.

We went to the beach with my sister and her family as well. Jack and Eric were having a good time.

Abby hugging her baby brother. She loves him!

Abby playing in her sprinkler. She loves to play in the water!
