Abby after 3 days of partying, she is ALL worn out!
I just have to share this story about Abby from last night. Yesterday we went and did a lot of things with Abby, we went to the zoo, and then Abby and I went to dinner, we went shopping and then we went to see Eric's aunt from out of town. We did not get home until really late. I got her ready for bed and I laid her right down, without our usual bedtime ritual of reading, and rocking, and praying. As she was laying there, I was talking to her giving her a kiss and telling her goodnight, when she folded her hands together said a couple of sentences and then said "Amen". She realized that we had not prayed before bed and that we needed to pray, so she went ahead and prayed on her own. When I realized what she did, I asked her if she wanted me to pray before bed. She nodded her head yes, and so I said our bedtime prayers and at the end she said Amen and clapped her hands. This whole things made me realize how much she is taking in and being influenced by everything I am teaching her now. For the past month or so she has not been into the bedtime prayer at all, she wiggles and moves and tries to read while I am praying, so I thought she really wasn't getting it, and now I realize that even if it seems like she is not getting it, she is absorbing everything that I say and do around her. This just makes me more aware to not call the other driver, that is making me mad, a moron or an idiot or whatever I want to call him. And not to talk about people or say mean things about anyone, because she is listening and absorbing. This whole thing also made me so proud of her. I am helping to prepare her heart and mind for one day when she will go to church and accept Jesus as her own savior and have her own relationship and her own walk with God. What a serious responsibility we all have as parents to teach our children to follow God, even at such a young age. Thank you God for giving me this precious blessing to teach and show her Your Love so that she may one day be a woman after Your own heart!
